Welcome to the Dromineer Nenagh Literary Festival Website

A Chairde,

Fáilte romhaibh go léir go Féile Litríochta Dhrom Inbhir agus an Aonaigh 2021.

Welcome to the 18th annual Dromineer Nenagh Literary Festival.  Despite the restrictions and limitations of the past year, we have been working continuously to be ready to bring you a real live festival again this autumn.  We are so happy to be in a position to host and support so many talented writers and performers after the challenges lockdown imposed on the arts sector in the last 18 months.

We remain devoted to bringing together writers and audiences at unique and innovative events in the historic and intimate surroundings of Nenagh and Lough Derg.

We are proud to present a packed programme, rich in imagination, designed to entertain, stimulate and excite you. We are delighted to introduce the best of our talented new young writers along with many household names.  We know they will delight, inspire and surprise you!

Personally, I would like to thank my dedicated committee and volunteers for their hard work in producing this festival.  Special thanks to our principal funders/partners, The Arts Council, Tipperary Co. Council, Creative Ireland, Nenagh Arts Centre, and all our local sponsors.

A léitheoirí is a scríbhneoirí, tá súil againn go mbainfidh sibh sult as gach uíle nóiméad den fhéile seo.

Declan Murphy's first encounter with a kingfisher as a young boy was unforgettable. Returning to the rivers years later, he embarks on a quest to study this most brightly-coloured bird during its nesting season, a seemingly straightforward challenge. But the river is slow to reveal the habits and secrets of its residents. Dippers, goosanders, grey wagtails and great spotted woodpeckers all yield their hidden habits to the author’s patient pursuit; yet the kingfisher continues to elude him. Join him on Oct 3 at 11am at Lough Derg Yacht Club - booking here www.nenagharts.com/event/dnlf-a-stroll-and-chat-about-the-spirit-of-the-river/
