DNLF is proud to present a new book of stories about mythical creatures written by local school children in workshops with writer Nigel Quinlan. Their stories have been beautifully illustrated by visual artist Carine Arnakis. We invite you to hear some of the stories read by their young creators.
Jackie Gorman, an emerging poet, will start off the evening with a short reading from her debut collection.
Enjoy an evening in the company of poet Jane Clarke and novelist Donal Ryan, who will read from their work and discuss their writing.
Siobhán McSweeney, actor and star of Derry Girls, will open the evening by reading one of her own short stories. This event will be chaired by Edel Coffey.
Novelist Niamh Boyce will read from and discuss her award winning novel, Her Kind. Based on the life of Alice Kytler, a powerful, wealthy money-lender in 14th Century Kilkenny. Niamh’s book is a vivid re-imagining of the events leading to Ireland’s first witch trials. Niamh will be in conversation with writer and academic Sarah Moore Fitzgerald. Music from singer, Dylan Rooney and cellist, Gráinne Higgins will enhance the atmosphere within the walls of Nenagh Castle.
DRESS WARMLY AND EVEN BRING A CUSHION. THIS VENUE IS NOT WHEELCHAIR ACCESSIBLE.
